SiMO Update

Well, this past week has been very busy... We finished out SiMO and now we're trying to catch a quick breather! Some of the highlights included going to a black church last Sunday morning and then visiting a Hindu Temple in the afternoon! What an experience!

The black church was a very refreshing place to worship! The people were super friendly and frankly, put us holiness people to shame! The songs were very uplifting and the message was practical, down-to-earth and convicting! A quote the speaker said, "If we don't have anything at risk, we haven't really given up anything." This is as general statement, but can apply to multiple areas in our lives. What a thought provoker!

I have tons of pictures from the Hindu Temple, but I'll try to limit them to a few!

Here is the exterior of the building. It is still under construction, but is still a beautiful place.

This is one of the worship leaders, who also acted as one of our guides.

During the "worship" service. - playing the organ and drum as acts of service were being offered to the child god.

Ukrainian Church Visit

This past week, we've been involved in SiMO (Summer Institute for Missionary Orientation). On Wednesday night, we took a "field trip" and visited a Ukrainian Church.

Some special points of interest:
* All the ladies wear a head covering. And yes, I wore one in respect to their culture!
* When praying on their knees, they face forward - towards the pew in front of them.
* After prayer, the Lord's Prayer is said in "unison" (for lack of the proper word that I can't think of right now!). Keep in mind, we prayed at least four times!

Check out the photos below.

The lady above just loves babies and kids, so we gave her Taylor to hold. You should have seen her face light up! She doesn't speak any English, but the church people told us that she had five kids and that 22 of her grandchildren go to that church! WOW!

Happy Father's Day!

I'm not really much of a sentimental person....but since today is Father's Day, I thought I'd let the three father's in my life know how much they are posting their pictures on my blog!! In actuality, if it wasn't for Father's - where would we be?

To my Father - thanks for raising me in a Christian home and for the sacrifice you and Mom made to send me to a Christian school. Also, thanks for all your help when I bring you all the "odds and ends stuff" to create, fix or help me with my brainstorms! You're the best!!

Hope he enjoys his White Deer Golf Course gift certificate!!

To my Father-in-law - thanks for raising a wonderful son (although you may have wondered sometimes if your efforts would really pay off)!!!

His gift? A nice dress shirt and tie combo!

And to my husband - what a wonderful gift God sent me in you! You've been a faithful and loving companion and now an outstanding father to our children! Thank you for leading our family, by example, to always follow the Lord! Love Ya!!

And yes, part of his gift was a NEW YORK YANKEES hat!! (I'll be sure to let him know that fellow bloggers approve)!!

Taylor's Dedication

This morning in church we had Taylor's baby dedication. He was four weeks old yesterday! Michael sang "I Want to be Just Like You" (by Phillips, Craig and Dean). Here are a few pics of us with our families.

Here are a few pictures of what we've been doing this past week.

Sunday we had our first missions deputation service! We were at the Green Grove New York Pilgrim Holiness Church. The service went really well. Here is a picture of our display board...we need to add a few things to it, but it is doing a good enough job for now!

Wednesday night, we had another service at the Lewistown God's Missionary Church. It was a privilege to be with the Donahay's. Once again, the Lord really helped us.

Now these next photos are what the Mason living room looks like during the week while Daddy is at work! For some unearthly reason, definitely not known to Mom, Kyle loves to pull all the seat cushions off the couch! Such entertainment! Such a messy living room! Maybe someday when I'm old I'll look back on these times with great fondness....then again, maybe not!

Ok...I've decided to enter the world of blogging!!

Now that our newest addition to our family has arrived and school is officially over, for some crazy reason, I thought I'd add blogging to the list of things to do before we start our deputation services!!

In other news, in case you haven't heard or seen pictures, here are some stats on our newest addition.

Taylor Scott Mason was born on May 19, 2007 at 11:43 p.m. He weighed in at 8 lbs. and was 19 1/2 in. Of course, we think he is cute and adorable!

And, Kyle really enjoys being a BIG brother! He asks to hold him and gives him lots of kisses!

We will try to keep you updated on our busy least every once in a blue moon!!
